Many people visit or move to Spain to enjoy the beautiful night skies. The lack of light pollution in so many areas means that stars and planets are clearly visible to the naked eye but with a telescope a whole lot more can be seen. El Torcal de Antequera is a nature reserve in the Sierra del Torcal mountain range situated south of Antequera in Malaga province off the A45. It is renowned for its spectacular landforms and described as one of the most impressive karst landscapes in Europe. It is also an ideal spot to practice your astronomy or just be awed by the moon and the stars at night.
The views of some of the monuments of Antequera are also worth seeing by the light of the moon.
